HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION OF THE GREAT PORTUGUESE NATIONAL LODGE
In this second edition of our “Humanist Compass”, the Human Rights Commission of the Portuguese National Grand Lodge (GLNP) reiterates, once again, its unwavering commitment to the promotion and protection of fundamental rights.
We live in times of great challenges, in which global instability and humanitarian crises require a cohesive response based on the Universal values of Human Rights.
By disseminating knowledge, raising awareness and mobilizing individuals and communities, we are contributing to a more just and equitable society.
Raising awareness is the first step towards change, and through this platform, we seek to shine a light on injustices and inspire positive action for human dignity.
In each issue, we strive to highlight the most pressing issues affecting humanity, from human rights violations to global efforts to combat such transgressions.
Our mission is clear, to serve as a voice for those who don't have one. Through solidarity, education and resilience, we can, together, overcome adversity and build a future where Human Rights are universally respected.
We thank all our readers and contributors for their continued dedication to this noble cause.
Together, we make a difference.

Alexei Navalny passed away on February 16, 2024 in a prison in Kharp, located in Russia, in the Arctic Circle.
In December 2023, Navalny disappeared from the prison where he was held and, for around three weeks, no one knew his whereabouts.
Later, he discovered that he was in a new prison, one of the most terrible and fearful in Russia.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, with allegations of either natural causes or murder.
The Federal Prison Service only reported that Navalny felt unwell after a walk, lost consciousness and despite the help provided, he ended up dying.
The many public demonstrations of grief by the Russian people were repressed and hushed up. Recently, Navalny's lawyer was detained for questioning.
